SHEA Water (Safety, Health and Environmental Awareness).

SHEA Water gives confidence there is the required knowledge and understanding to work safely in an operational environment. Ensuring the training is relevant to those working within the water industry.

The training embeds best practice in health and safety and environmental awareness and supports the HSE’s essential principles for good health and safety performance.

SHEA schemes are developed in collaboration with employers and key stakeholders from across the industries in our sector. Helping to improve the safety of the workforce and reduce costs associated with injury, illness or accidents.

Upon successful completion of the course, alongside their SHEA Water registration, candidates will receive a green labourer CSCS card.

Course Information.

Our training courses are held online using Microsoft Teams.

To participate learners will need:

  • Laptop or tablet with microphone and camera function enabled.

  • Microsoft Teams software (no account required)

  • Internet connection

  • Access to an email account (personal or business)

Courses are trainer-led, last approximately seven hours, and contain the following elements:

  • Module 1: Understanding our workplace responsibilities

  • Module 2: Understanding the effects of our work on the environment

  • Module 3: Identifying and controlling risks

  • Module 4: Common hazards and controls in the workplace

  • Module 5: Occupational health hazards

  • Module 6: Responding to emergencies

  • Module 20: Clean and wastewater operations

  • Module 21: Highway working and excavations (water)

  • Test: Each module requires an end-of-module assessment, and comprises of between four and seven questions (40 questions in total). They are multiple choice and candidates permitted to get one question incorrect per module.
